Barely Busan: Shinsegae Centum City - the world's largest shopping complex

When we found out that Busan has the Guinness Book of World Records' holder for the largest shopping complex in the world in it's backyard, we were curious to see how humongous this mall was. On our second day of sight-seeing in Busan we decided to head straight to Shinsegae Centum City to see it for ourselves.

The shopping complex was just four subway stations away from our hotel. Very convenient for a quick stop and late breakfast. There was a Lotte Trevi Plaza at the basement level coming out from the subway station. It gave a feeling of being in Europe, somewhere in Italy, as we saw the sculptures at the Trevi Plaza.
There were actually a total of 14 levels (the last four being golf driving ranges). There were also four levels of cinemas, spa lands and, of course, the department stores. There's also an ice skating rink, and around it were several snack places. Walking around the first four levels of the mall, we couldn't really see how big it was. We thought it was just as big as the bigger shopping malls in Singapore (Suntec, Vivocity, Ion) or the Philippines (MOA, etc). But we've only gone through four levels. We thought maybe we could get a better idea of how big it really was from the outside. We decided to step out and have our picture taken from the outside. We realized we were actually only exploring a part of the complex since we were in gate four or five. And the building looked really big from the outside. We couldn't even take a photo of the whole facade.

We didn't really go there to shop or go to every level. We went there to eat so we decided to go for Dunkin' Donut. Breakfast sugar rush!

While the boys had muffins, I ordered a cup of munchkins. They realized I got the best value for money cause when they were all done with their choice of snack, I still had some munchkins to bring to our next stop.

guess what these guys were smiling about?
With our tummies happy with our early sugar craving we were on our way to an afternoon of adventure and exploration at Gamcheon Cultural Village.
